| We
invite you to make MACC your home away from home. Participants,
staff and faculty all work together to create a community
of faith, respect, celebration and learning.
Daily life at MACC includes an array of activities and programs
for development of the whole person through experiential learning,
spiritual development and communal life.
To meet the diverse needs of our participants, the MACC staff
works with each new group of participants to develop prayer
services and Eucharistic celebrations that support their spiritual
and educational journey. On the weekends, participants attend
services at local churches that offer various liturgical experiences
in English and Spanish.
Additionally, faith sharing groups and spiritual direction
are available both on and off campus.
MACC
is located on San Antonio’s northwest side in a quiet,
residential neighborhood. (click here for

The newly built campus offers comfortable accommodations,
modern classrooms, a state-of-the-art computer-based language
lab, a cafeteria, a participant lounge and kitchen area, laundry
facilities, a unique bookstore, lovely gardens and a peaceful
chapel for quiet meditation and liturgical celebrations. The
beautiful, hacienda-style complex is within walking distance
of Woodlawn Lake, a favorite neighborhood park, graced by
a lovely lake, surrounded by a jogging path. Participants
also enjoy a large swimming pool at Assumption Seminary, located
across the street. MACC is only a few minutes from historic,
downtown San Antonio and conveniently close to buslines, a
post office, a supermarket and other stores.
This central location also provides access to the following
academic institutions that allow MACC participants to use
their extensive library collections: St.
Mary’s University, Our
Lady of the Lake University, The
University of the Incarnate Word and Oblate
School of Theology.
For
participants seeking a multicultural and multilingual community,
San Antonio offers many opportunities and experiences.
It is a city rich in history with a unique culture shaped
by Mexican, European and Tejano influences. The various
cultural attractions, such as the Spanish Missions National
Historical Park, and six different museums, reflect the diverse
heritage of San Antonio’s people. The close proximity
of the border also encourages many participants to travel
to Mexico, less than half a day away. Padre Island National
Seashore, the Texas Hill Country and Austin, the capital of
Texas, are also within easy driving distance.
