This journey takes participants along both sides of the border in the Lower Rio Grande Valley .  This unique experiential learning process includes visits with people of the area, social analysis, personal reflection and integrative seminars. Participants visit refugee shelters, community groups, colonias (unincorporated rural subdivisions), and maquiladoras. Topics of discussion include immigration, health and environmental hazards and the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
