Admissions > Intensive Academic English - ESL Program
Welcome to the Intensive Academic English Program (IAE) at the Mexican American Catholic College. Our mission is to provide academic ESL instruction and cultural orientation for English language learners who need to learn English to prepare for academic work, including preparation for the TOEFL exam. The Intensive Academic English (IAE) program is offered at five levels and emphasizes reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, with all levels increasingly geared towards TOEFL preparation and academic learning situations.
The IAE offers:
- Small classes
- Experienced, trained professional ESL instructors
- Computer lab for Reading and Writing classes
- Internet resources
- Library privileges
- at least 21 instructional hours each week
- TOEFL test preparation
MACC does not require a TOEFL score for admission into the IAE program. Applicants will be tested upon entrance to MACC to determine their course placement.
