Admissions

 

Persons seeking admission to one of the Mexican American Catholic College’s degree programs for the 2009-2010 academic year will be required to submit a completed application package to the Registrar before registering for classes. Application documentation includes: an application form, official transcripts from all previous post-high school academic study, an application essay, relevant test scores, letters of recommendation, and the application fee. The Admissions Committee will review completed applications. The Registrar will notify the applicant of the Admissions Committee’s decision. The applicant’s file becomes the property of the school.

 

Undergraduate Requirements

  1. Completed application forms printed or typed in black ink.
  2. Application fee: $20 non-refundable check or money order.
  3. Essay of 250-300 words. This is an opportunity for you to allow us to know you as an individual in ways different from courses, grades, tests and other objective materials. We are interested in how you organize and express your thoughts in writing. Answer one of the following:
    1. Why did you choose MACC as your college?
    2. Describe any academic or personal experiences, goals or ideas that are particularly influential in determining your future plans. You can include personal achievements or special family situations, and explain why these are relevant to your higher education.
    3. What do you hope to accomplish in your college years?
  4. Three letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes: two from high school or college teachers, the remaining one from the pastor of your church, high school counselor, principal, or an adult who knows you from a volunteer setting
  5. Official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended. Students with fewer than 30 semester hours of college credit also must submit official high school transcripts for all high schools attended.
  6. Official test scores directly from the testing company; the SAT or ACT, International students must submit the official

    TOEFL score. The ACT code for MACC is 4265. Please note that this code number is normally not available in the information booklet or at test centers. The SAT code for MACC is 5957. The TOEFL code is 4469.
  7. One recent passport size photo.

    Only completed applications will be considered for admission.

    The Admissions Committee reserves to itself the right to admit or deny entrance to any applicant. Deadlines for applications are: June 30th, 2009, for the Fall Semester and November, 30th, 2009, for the Spring Semester; March 31st , 2010, for the Summer session(s). If extensions are needed, please contact the Registrar’s Office.

    Persons taking classes as non-degree students or as auditors are not required to obtain general admission. See the Continuing Education Course Registration section for more information.

 

International Admissions

MACC welcomes the applications of international students. We provide an array of services to international students including both English and Spanish as a Second Language Programs (ESL & SSL), housing, academic support services and a friendly socially/culturally diverse campus.

Financial Information

Any registrations after Registration Day is late registration and may be assessed a late fee. A student will not be allowed to register for classes if the student carries an unresolved overdue balance.
