La
Misión de MACC
es
capacitar
y educar
líderes
al servicio
de
una iglesia y sociedad culturalmente diversas
|
The
Reality
- by 2010,
half of all Catholics in the United States will be Hispanics
- the Hispanic
population is growing all across the nation--from Michigan to Florida,
Washington to New York--not just in the Southwest, Los Angeles or
Miami
- every year,
the American work force is becoming more and more diverse and our
society more multicultural
MACC's
Response
- recognize
the urgency of the need to bring cultures together
- work for
the good of the Hispanic community and the multicultural society in
which we live
- enhance
and improve the quality of life for all families
- provide
communal integrative experiences in theology, pastoral ministry, language
studies, research and Hispanic reality
- prepare
leaders to respond to the religious and social needs of Hispanic and
multicultural communities
- commit to
increasing education and literacy--the foundation for economic stability
and community well-being
- train teachers
to prepare workers for the multicultural reality of the next century
- develop
a focus that goes far beyond Hispanic culture and community to encompass
individuals of all cultures
