Today,
Hispanic ministry faces two central questions. First, what model of
leadership will Hispanic Catholics offer as they continue to become
a strong presence within the Catholic Church in the United States? And
second, how will this model strengthen the unity of the body of Christ
in increasingly culturally diverse communities? ( Encuentro and
Mission , 7)
MACC's
comprehensive formation program for leadership in Hispanic Ministry
responds to the four dimensions of the renewed pastoral framework outlined
by the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the call of Pope John Paul II to a
new evangelization. At the heart of this call is an effort to build
an inclusive and prophetic model of the Church that invites all to conversion,
communion, and solidarity through an encounter with the Risen Christ
in our midst.
Dimension
I: The New Evangelization and Formation
Focus:
Integral Leadership Formation
Being a servant leader in Hispanic ministry means committing to ongoing
formation in every sense of the word: personal, academic, professional,
and spiritual. MACC offers a variety of exceptional formation and language
programs for new and seasoned leaders in Hispanic ministry. Additionally,
MACC offers leaders the tools they need to introduce or strengthen wholistic,

Outreach, Service, and
Empowerment Being a leader in Hispanic Ministry means mobilizing faith
communities to respond to the urgent spiritual and social needs of our
times. MACC's programs and resources for leadership formation are rooted
in the call of Catholic Social Teaching to be a leaven for the Reign
of God in society. MACC offers courses and immersion experiences that
help leaders to see social realities, to discern them in the light of
faith, and to initiate social action grounded in Gospel values.
Dimension

within the Church and in Society to evaluate their inclusiveness.
